Technology
Purifying and standardizing the stem/stromal cell secretome into a reproducible research material.
TeleBio’s technology is rooted in the adipose-derived stem/stromal cell expertise of our founder, Prof. Kotaro Yoshimura. Building on this foundation, we developed a proprietary process to purify, concentrate, and standardize the cell secretome — creating the “Secretome Extract,” a reproducible research material that we and our academic partners use to advance regenerative medicine research.
Built on two decades of stem/stromal cell research
Our foundation is the culture technology for human adipose-derived stem/stromal cells (ASCs), grounded in more than 20 years of research by Prof. Kotaro Yoshimura and his team. This expertise — in how these cells are cultured and how their secreted factors are recovered — is the starting point for everything we do.
What is the secretome?
The “secretome” is the collective term for the factors — such as growth factors and exosomes — secreted by cells, which play essential roles in tissue repair and maintenance. The secretome of mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) — and human adipose-derived stem/stromal cells (ASCs) in particular — has attracted significant attention in regenerative medicine research for a range of anticipated effects, including tissue regeneration and anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic properties.
The challenge — impurities and variability
Raw, unprocessed culture supernatant contains not only useful factors but also cell-derived metabolic by-products such as ammonia and lactate. These impurities can compromise quality and cause lot-to-lot variability.
Our technology — purification, concentration & standardization
Prof. Yoshimura developed a proprietary process that addresses these challenges across three pillars, transforming variable culture supernatant into the standardized “Secretome Extract” — clearly distinct from unpurified culture supernatant.
Purification
Removing harmful by-products such as ammonia to extremely low levels.
Concentration
Concentrating the beneficial factors secreted by the cells.
Standardization
Quantitatively managing key markers — HGF, ammonia, and lactate — for lot-to-lot consistency, with third-party-verifiable quality.
Research & academic collaborations
We use the Secretome Extract as a standardized research material in our own studies and in collaborative research with leading academic institutions.
Jichi Medical University
Our core research partner. Collaborative research continued since our founding, with a dedicated course established in 2024.
The University of Tokyo
Collaborative research in the area of fertility and pregnancy rates.
Hamamatsu University School of Medicine
Collaborative research in the area of skin ulcers.
Why it matters — a research platform
Standardization is the core of our differentiation. By quantifying and controlling quality markers, we provide a reproducible research material and a technology platform that can serve as the foundation for collaborative development.
